Miriam Haskell Necklace

One of my most favorite vintage jewelry designers was Miriam Haskell. Her jewelry was worn for publicity shots, films, and personal use by movies stars Joan Crawford, Lucille Ball, Gloria Vanderbilt and the Duchess of Windsor. Crawford owned a set of almost every Haskell ever produced, from the 1920's through the 1960's.

Gladys Cooper (18 December 1888 – 17 November 1971)

She was an English actress whose career spanned seven decades on stage, in films and on television. She started on stage as a teenage in an Edwardian comedy musical and then went onto silent films. She played in many, many movies and television shows all the way to 1971.

Lily Elsie (1886 – 1962) was the most popular English actress and singer during the Edwardian era, best known for her role in the hit London premiere of Franz Lehár's operetta The Merry Widow. Admired for her beauty, she was one of the most photographed women of Edwardian London. Cecil Beaton said:"To see her merely walk across the stage was a poem." She was said to have the 'most kissable mouth in all England'.

Twiggy

Twiggy was born as Lesley Hornby, on Sept 19, 1949. She is an English model, actress and singer and in the mid 60's, she became a prominent teen-age model, known for her thin build, large eyes, long eyelashes and short hair. This is one of my favorite photos of her, which was made by Richard Avedon in 1968. When I look at this picture, all I can think of is - I WANT THAT VEST!
